摘要: Sudden cardiac death (SCD) in an athlete is a rare yet highly visible tragedy that generates significant media attention and discussion among medical personnel, sports communities, laypersons alike. The incidence of SCD greater athletes compared with their nonathletic counterparts due to the increased risk associated strenuous exercise context quiescent abnormality. Numerous structural, electrical, acquired cardiovascular abnormalities are capable causing SCD, many which can be identified during life managed by lifestyle modifications, pharmacotherapy, device therapy. Strategies for prevention including pre-participation screening, endorsed governing bodies, but mandatory screening remains rare. Evaluation poses diagnostic difficulties, particularly differentiating between physiological adaptation exercise, known as athlete's heart, cardiomyopathic processes SCD. This paper provides detailed review regarding etiology young insight into challenges dilemmas faced when evaluating underlying pathological conditions.
