Public participation in water resources management in Romania: issues, expectations and actual involvement

摘要: Water and its sustainable use is closely connected to developments in other fields, such as industry, agriculture services, energy, nature conservation health. The pressures imposed by the higher water demands, quality of discharges climate change raise new challenges which can be overcome only coordinated efforts multiple stakeholders through cooperation participatory processes. This study presents how public participation – within context integrated resources management currently functions Romania. Over past twenty years, this country witnessed major political, social, economical environmental transformations. These transformations also mark an evolution from a period communist structures destroyed any type into societal organizations are reconstructed processes developing. In context, contribution elaborates on expectations different related management, well actual implementation practice. Three case studies presented, each them analyzing aspects management: stakeholders’ expectations, formal procedures active stakeholder involvement. By using results studies, we present some main issues limited management. We concluded that although there institutional general willingness improve field involvement relevant still very limited.
