摘要: Abstract Epidemiological, clinical features and the pathogenesis of 60 cases pseudomonas septicaemia, observed over a period 7 years from 1975 to 1981, are described. The mean frequency occurrence was 0·40 episodes per 1000 admissions an incidence 66 cent in patients with serious underlying diseases, such as haematological malignancies neoplasia. Thirty-seven had received cytotoxic immunosuppressive therapy showed marked leukopenia, whenever leukocyte count fell below 2000/mm 3 , prognosis significantly worse. most common portals entry were respiratory gastrointestinal tracts. overall mortality very high (75 cent) mainly related septic shock. Apart this complication (24 patients, 40 all cases), typical picture, distinguishing other Gram-negative septicaemias, did not emerge.
