摘要: Abstract The effects of three distinct thermo-mechanical processes on the residual stress state in a uni-directionally reinforced SCS-6/Ti-6-2-4-2[0] 6 titanium-alloy matrix composite were predicted using finite element model. For comparison stresses measured X-ray and neutron diffraction. Reductions by models both experimental techniques recorded reduction compared to as-fabricated material. While numerically trends qualitatively agreed with measurements quantitative agreement was not achieved. In longitudinal direction results showed closer calcualtion whereas transverse did. Nevertheless changes did correlate improvement fatigue lifetimes.
