Comparison of ExPress Mini-Device Implantation Alone or Combined with Phacoemulsification for the Treatment of Open-Angle Glaucoma

摘要: We propose comparative assessment of the effectiveness two surgical methods for treatment open-angle glaucoma: (1) ExPress mini-device implantation combined with phacoemulsification and (2) alone. In this prospective study, 81 patients (88 phakic eyes) uncontrolled glaucoma enrolled surgery. They were assigned groups, those coexisting cataracts (46 eyes; P-ExPress group) alone (42 group). The follow-up period was 12.9 ± 0.4 months in 12.2 0.6 group. both groups following parameters measured: best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), number complications necessary postoperative interventions, medications. IOP at end similar (18.8 5.9 versus 18.1 4.8 mmHg; P = 0.814). There no statistical differences average medications between (0.9 1.65 1.3 1.7; 0.419) as well (26 21%; 0.179 resp.). Both are safe effective glaucoma. Coexistence does not constitute a compelling contraindication
