摘要: Fish stanniocalcin (STC) inhibits uptake of calcium and stimulates phosphate reabsorption. To determine the role highly homologous mammalian protein, STC-1, we created characterized transgenic mice that express STC-1 under control a muscle-specific promoter. were smaller than wild-type littermates had normal growth plate cartilage morphology but increased matrix synthesis. In mice, rate bone formation, not mineralization, was decreased. Increased cortical thickness changes in trabeculae number, density, indicated concomitant suppression osteoclast activity, which supported by microcomputed tomography analyses histochemistry. Skeletal muscles disproportionately small showed altered function response to injury mice. Electron microscopy muscle mitochondria dramatically enlarged These could be explained deficits blood vessel as vascularity organs skeletal tissues induction femoral artery ligation. Our results indicate can affect homeostasis, mass structure, angiogenesis through effects on osteoblasts, osteoclasts, myoblasts/myocytes, endothelial cells.
