摘要: In spite of the advances in knowledge adult stem cells (ASCs) during past few years, their natural activities vivo are still poorly understood. Mesenchymal (MSCs), one most promising types ASCs for cell-based therapies, defined mainly by functional assays using cultured cells. Defining MSCs vitro adds complexity to study because artificial conditions may introduce experimental artifacts. Inserting these results context organism is difficult exact location and functions remain elusive; identification MSC niche necessary validate obtained further physiological this ASC. Here we show an analysis evidence suggesting a perivascular MSCs, correlating with pericytes, present model which zone vivo, where local cues coordinate transition progenitor mature cell phenotypes. This proposes that stabilize blood vessels contribute tissue immune system homeostasis under assume more active role repair focal injury. The establishment compartment as provides basis rational design additional therapeutic approaches. view connects vascular systems, emphasizing its integrator importance repair/regeneration.
