摘要: Aluminum (Al) and gallium (Ga) permeations of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) were assessed in rats. Unbound extracellular Al Ga concentrations ascertained at two potential sites BBB permeation, cerebral capillaries choroid plexuses, by implantation microdialysis probes frontal cortex lateral ventricle, respectively. A probe implanted jugular vein revealed unbound blood or concentrations. 67Ga citrate was administered via femoral vein. Peak seen within first 10 min all three sites. Area under curve (concentration vs. time to final sample) values calculated using RSTRIP. Within-rat overall cortical/blood ventricular/blood ratios [brain/blood (oBBRs)] from area values. cortical oBBRs significantly higher than those for ventricle. not different between These results suggest that primary site A1 permeation across is capillaries, whereas does differ plexuses. The use as a model study pharmacokinetics may be appropriate elucidation mechanism entry into brain.
