摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter presents glucose as a regulator of neuronal activity. Any attempt to discuss exclusively or mediator activity would be limited, and the result superficial. It is true that directly affects neurons in several peripheral organs central neuron systems. However, these effects are modified by host additional nutrients, metabolites, hormones, other peptides. In addition, turn affect release factors, thereby, creating feedback loops having positive negative characteristics, change from one different circumstances. The on hepatic vagal afferents have been traced, with some gaps, far lateral hypothalamic (LHA) where inhibition was observed units were themselves identified being sensitive. Stimulation ventromedial (VMH), paraventricular nucleus (PVN), splanchnic nerve decreases insulin secretion, does LHA lesion. Conversely, stimulation increases lesion VMH PVN has same effect. Glucose-responsive cells residing higher region brainstem, VMH, might obtain systemic information blood third ventricle.
