摘要: The use of cognitive subtraction to study the neural substrates maintenance component spatial working memory in humans relies upon assumptions pure insertion processes and a linear transform activity neuroimaging signal. Here, functional changes attributable requiring phase (referred as retention delay) task were temporally discriminated from those other behavioral subcomponents within trials using an experimental design that is argued obviate these assumptions, well permit joint test their validity. hypothesis (as applied neuroimaging) hold general was not supported. Functional delay detected dorsolateral prefrontal cortex cortical regions subset subjects, right frontal eye field superior parietal lobule all subjects (n=5). These results support models which are involved maintaining representations humans. In addition, nearly evidenced such during also behaviors did require memory. This result tends dispute posit existence gross neuroanatomical solely mnemonic function.
