摘要: Histamine is an amine acting as a major peripheral inflammatory mediator. In the brain, histamine was initially viewed neurotransmitter, but new evidences support its involvement in modulation of innate immune responses. Recently, we showed that modulates microglial migration and cytokine release. Its pleiotropic actions, ranging from neurotransmission to inflammation, highlight key player vast array brain physiologic activities also pathogenesis several neurodegenerative diseases. Herein, emphasize role modulator reactions, either by on invading cells and/or resident cells. We unveil putative microglial-neuronal communication. first show release mediators, namely nitric oxide, microglia Consequently, secretome released upon stimulation fosters dopaminergic neuronal death. These data may reveal important pharmacological applications use antihistamines, particularly context Parkinson’s disease.
