摘要: Vibrio fischeri belongs to the Vibrionaceae, a large family of marine γ-proteobacteria that includes several dozen species known engage in diversity beneficial or pathogenic interactions with animal tissue. Among small number cause human diseases are cholerae, parahaemolyticus, and vulnificus, only members Vibrionaceae have had their genome sequences reported. Nonpathogenic genus Vibrio, including symbionts, make up majority but none these has been similarly examined. Here we report sequence V. ES114, which enters into mutualistic symbiosis light organ bobtail squid, Euprymna scolopes. Analysis this revealed surprising parallels cholerae other pathogens.
