摘要: Abstract The aim of this study is to improve understanding willingness-to-pay (WTP) for the enhancement selected ecosystem services from forested watersheds. Results a nationwide survey over 1000 U.S. households showed limited knowledge payment service (PES) programs and antagonistic opinions regarding initial WTP watershed conservation corresponding PES financial charges. Water quality dominated importance among attributes used in discrete-choice experiment followed by provisioning habitat threatened plant animal species, flood control, landscape aesthetics. Econometric analyses elucidated that environmental attitudes significantly influenced results even more than annual household income. show levels improvements water were homogeneous across nation but heterogeneous habitat, control. Findings support establishment initiatives enhance watersheds conditions primarily driven quality. should be tailored locally emphasize other such as species
