摘要: Malignant sinunasal tumors are very rare in Mexico. They ussually present as advanced disease because it is extremely difficult to make an early diagnosis; addition, its treatment complicated by a variety of lesions. Surgical resection remains the mainstay treatment, but relative therapeutic value compared with alternative treatments controversial. We undertook retrospective analysis order evaluate results craniofacial resections for tumors. A total 20 patients, 11 men and 9 women were considered, median age was 49 years (18–74). Eleven had received previous elsewhere. In 13 patients tumor limited maxilo-etmoidal complex, 6 cases involved anteroinferior aspect esfenoidal sinus, 7 extended orbit, 3 dura two brain. One cervical metastases. Median tumoral size 5.8 cm (1–10). Overall complication rate 50%. Major surgical complications occurred 4 (20%): one patient developed isolated cerebrobrpinal fluid leakage (CEFL), 1 deterioration mental status, meningitis associated CEFL. Late 30% patients. There not any operative death. postoperative radiotherapy. Fifteen recurred. local relapses, although regional relapse, another distant relapse. four fails six failures. Three year overall survival 65%, 3-year free Patients without 28.3 months, meanwhile 18.2 months. Craniofacial safe valuable tool involving cranial base.
