摘要: Healthy adult volunteers were injected either with one of two conjugates composed Streptococcus pneumoniae type 12F polysaccharide (Pn12F) covalently coupled to diphtheria toxoid or Pn12F alone (as a component Pnu-Imune, 23-valent pneumococcus vaccine). The induced Pn12F-specific antibody-secreting cells in peripheral blood numbers and isotype distribution similar those by immunoglobulin A (IgA) as the predominant isotype. also elicited high toxoid-specific IgG class. There was no distinct booster effect, since second dose at significantly lower than after first dose. In contrast cell numbers, conjugate vaccines higher increases IgA1 antibodies serum did Pnu-Imune. However, neither nor Pnu-Imune secretory antibody response. Antibody levels saliva correlated poorly frequency antigen-specific cells. Circulating present 7 days postimmunization probably not responsible for increase but rather represented population vivo-activated B ability disseminate humoral response from antigen recognition site distant locations production.
