摘要: Publisher Summary The goal of the Saccharomyces Genome Database (SGD) is to provide information about genome this yeast, genes it encodes, and their biological functions. sequence S. cerevisiae provides structure around which in SGD organized; value added by careful annotation drawn from a number sources. curates stores budding yeast DNA protein sequences, genetics, cell biology, associated community researchers. also search analysis tools designed help researchers mine data for pieces or patterns relevant interests. A continuing challenge staff present up-to-date format that intuitive useful biomedical researchers, while responding needs providing resources exploring new ways. This chapter describes organization SGD, sources stored some methods retrieving database, connections has with outside databases non-yeast research communities, SGD's repository information.
