摘要: Background:  Cytokeratin (CK) expression patterns have been studied in numerous intact and diseased oral tissues. However, CK metaplastic squamous cells has not explored depth the origin of epithelial linings jaw cysts sufficiently investigated. Methods:  We examined 46 postoperative maxillary (POMCs) which were lined with pseudostratified columnar only, cells, 13, 30 3 cases, respectively. Results:  The CK8, CK13 CK18 observed 39, 9 all 43 linings, respectively. Metaplastic epithelia expressed more CK13, less CK8. Of 33 24 23 26 CK18. observedwere CK18(+)–CK13(−) 10 CK18(+)–CK13(+) 16, CK18(−)–CK13(+) 7. CK13- CK18-mRNA was generally correlated level protein expressed. by situ hybridization, only positive for protein, but also five seven did express protein. In addition, RT-PCR revealed an although weaker than that linings. CK13-mRNA inversely to CK18-mRNA. Conclusions:  These results indicate is preserved through metaplasia, decreased. differentiate a decrease increase expression.
