摘要: Icariin, a major constituent of flavonoids from the Chinese medicinal herb Epimedium brevicornum, exhibits multiple biological properties, including anti-inflammatory, neuroregulatory and neuroprotective activities. Therefore, Icariin might be applied in treatment neurodegenerative disorders, Alzheimer's disease (AD), which is neuropathologically characterized by β-amyloid aggregation, hyperphosphorylated tau neuroinflammation. Potential therapeutic effects were investigated an animal model cerebral amyloidosis for AD, transgenic APP/PS1 mouse. was suspended carboxymethylcellulose given orally to mice. Therapeutic monitored behavioral tests, namely nesting assay, before during experimental treatment. Following oral 10 days, significantly attenuated Aβ deposition, microglial activation TGF-β1 immunoreactivity at amyloid plaques cortex hippocampus mice 5 months age, restored impaired ability. Our results suggest that considered promising option human AD.
