An Analysis of the Network Selection Problem for Heterogeneous Environments with User-Operator Joint Satisfaction and Multi-RAT Transmission

摘要: The trend in wireless networks is that several radio access technologies (RATs) coexist the same area, forming heterogeneous which users may connect to any of available RATs. problem associating a user most suitable RAT, known as network selection (NSP), capital importance for satisfaction these emerging environments. However, also operator important this scenario. In work, we propose connection be served by more than one RAT using multi-RAT terminals. We formulate NSP with multiple association based on utility functions take into consideration both user’s and provider’s satisfaction. As are characterized according their expected quality service, our results exhaustively analyze influence profile, along topology type applications served.
