摘要: Publisher Summary The chapter focuses on specific enzymes associated with bacterial membranes, and no attempt will be made to elaborate upon the broader aspects of mechanisms important functions, such as transport, DNA replication segregation, association ribosomes membranes. More emphasis placed accordingly properties membrane-bound, released or solubilized Since membranes are multifunctional structures, it is expected that they cellular site many functioning in biosynthetic energy transduction processes cell. Membrane-associated involved active electron phospholipid glycolipid biosynthesis, biosynthesis external macromolecular cell-wall peptidoglycan, lipopolysaccharides, wall membrane teichoic acids enzymes, undecaprenol metabolism have all been detected investigated isolated particulate fractions. It can anticipated mutants contribute much our future understanding functions not clearly understood at present time (e.g. ATPases, phospholipases) manner which lipid composition phase transitions affect enzyme activities.
