摘要: Helicases are molecular machines that utilize energy derived from ATP hydrolysis to move along nucleic acids and separate base-paired nucleotides. The movement of the helicase can also be described as a stationary pumps acid. Recent structural data for hexameric E1 papillomavirus in complex with single-stranded DNA MgADP has provided detailed atomic mechanistic picture its ATP-driven translocation. features this compared prototypes T7gp4 SV40 T-antigen. ATP-binding site architectures these proteins structurally similar sites other prototypical motors such F1-ATPase, suggesting related roles individual residues ATPase activity.
