摘要: I examine some aspects of the interaction between massive star η Carinae and its companion, in particular during eclipse-like event, known as spectroscopic event or shell event. The is thought to occur when near periastron passages stellar companion induces much higher mass-loss rate from primary and/or enters into a denser environment around star. find that enhanced passages, if it occurs, might explain high eccentricity system. However, there not yet good model presumed passages. In region where winds two stars collide, dense slow flow formed, such large dust grains may be formed. Unlike case 19th century Great Eruption, does accrete mass most orbital motion. short accretion episodes occur, which lead pulsed ejection jets by companion. ionize nonnegligible surrounding, resembling situation symbiotic systems. discuss relation these processes other astrophysical objects, incorporating Car class bipolar nebulae.
