摘要: Continuous LHRH infusion in normal women leads to pituitary and gonadal desensitization [1]. Once daily intranasal administration of potent agonists consistently blocks ovulation prevents progesterone secretion [2–5]. However under repetitive agonist down-regulation the inhibition follicular activity is variable there a high incidence oligomenorrhea amenorrhea [3–5]. Endometrial biopsies taken after several months treatment indicated inactive endometrium or stages proliferation [6,7]. Potential drawbacks long term could be related persistent state decreased unopposed estrogens.
