摘要: Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of pomegranate peel aqueous extract (PGE) on development secondary experimental echinococcosis and viability Echinococcus granulosus protoscoleces, immunomodulatory properties PGE. Methods Swiss mice were inoculated intraperitoneally with viable protoscoleces. Then, PGE was orally administered daily during cystic development. Cyst hepatic damage macroscopically histologically analyzed. The production nitric oxide TNF-α assessed in plasma expression iNOS, TNF-α, NF-κB CD68 examined. Moreover, protoscoleces cultured treated different concentrations Results It observed that in vitro treatment caused a significant decrease PGE-dose-dependent manner. In vivo , after infected PGE, levels ( P Conclusions Our results indicate an antihydatic scolicidal suggesting its potential therapeutic role against infection.
