摘要: Vehicle infrastructure integration (VII) is receiving significant attention because of its potential to provide a wide range benefits. However, inform design, deployment, and operations decisions best, it will be necessary evaluate VII-enabled applications fully. A research effort investigated traffic monitoring application. First, the VII simulation environment developed support was described. Next, coverage as function roadside unit (RSU) configuration (i.e., number units placement) investigated. The results study indicated that, on basis current guidance in architecture, roughly 55% sections network would within direct an RSU. Finally, accuracy monitored links were evaluated. analysis demonstrated that only 35% RSU-covered at 1% penetration rates, but combined effect RSU indirect through vehicle storage quite high (around 60%) for heavily traveled urban network. also illustrated low levels vehicles equipped with (1% 10%), mean absolute error speed estimation about 4 mph. rate increase 30%, dropped even lower values, 2.5 found default buffer value 30 snapshots storage, greatest indirectly covered freeway section 6 mph rate.
