摘要: Changes in body mass due to varying amounts of calorie intake occur frequently with obesity and anorexia/cachexia being at opposite sides the scale. Here, we tested whether a high-fat diet or restriction (CR) decreases number cardiac myocytes affects their volume. Ten 6–8-week-old mice were randomly assigned normal (control group, n = 5) (obesity for 28 weeks. 8-week-old CR (CR 7 days. The left ventricles hearts prepared light electron microscopy, analysed by design-based stereology. In CR, neither myocytes, relationship between one- multinucleate nor mean volume significantly different groups. contrast, obese observed significant increase cell size combined lower cardiomyocytes (P < 0.05 one-sided U-test) an nuclei per myocyte. myofibrils mitochondria myocyte reflected hypertrophic hypotrophic remodelling respectively, but only mice, indicating more profound effect protocol than experiments. Taken together, our data indicate that long-lasting is associated loss ventricle, short-term does not alter cardiomyocytes.
