A Simple and Reliable Method of Narrowing Genioplasty Using Biodegradable Screws.

摘要: The T-osteotomy technique is widely performed to improve lower face aesthetics. During this narrowing genioplasty procedure, metal fixtures are required rigidly fix the bone segments. Specifically, use of biodegradable osteofixations has become a viable surgical option as more patients now have desire surreptitiously undergo aesthetic surgery. present report describes procedure with screws only. When was narrow chin, segments were first temporarily fixed 4-hole titanium plate and screws. Later during operation, replaced 4 bicortical fixation. Completion healing can be confirmed by follow-up radiographs taken 6 months after Despite increasing demand for absorbable materials in surgeries, fixation systems not been used surgeries due perception high cost, inconvenient manipulation, prolonged operative time, suspicions on long-term stability. Our novel method using only allows such limitations easily overcome surgeons.
