摘要: We have investigated the possible involvement of viruses, specifically Herpes simplex virus type 1, in senile dementia Alzheimer (SDAT). Using highly sensitive polymerase chain reaction, we detected viral thymidine kinase gene post-mortem brain from 14/21 cases and 9/15 elderly normals. The temporal cortex hippocampus were usually virus-positive; contrast, occipital was virus-negative 9/9 SDAT 5/5 Temporal frontal younger normals (five infants five middle-aged) negative. Thus, presence 1 DNA is a region-dependent feature aged brain.
