摘要: In Europe agricultural areas are of great importance to biodiversity conservation. One the aims Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2013 is avoid additional loss agriculture-related biodiversity. Farmland a public good that provides ecosystem services necessary for sustainability agriculture itself as well sustainable environment whole. To evaluate policies such CAP and monitor development in areas, specifically designed indicators needed. Current EU-level often limited specific species group, example group farmland birds, not evaluation future policies. This study presents methodology new indicator targeted at considering large variety focussing on policy. The combines maps potential occurrence 132 relevant (plants vertebrates) 50 km grid, with detailed information (1 grid) influence environmental pressures these species. A first map 1 grid EU provided, based available data. shows state EU. Generally speaking, south east better than west north. However, spatial variability high between even within regions. presented may be used explore dynamics following policy interventions, using or by modelling effect form basis indicator.
