摘要: High resolution (6A) electron density profiles have been computed on an absolute scale for bilayers composed of both saturated fatty acids and associated with the alkaline earth series divalent cations. Lowangle X-ray diffraction data interpreted by isomorphous replacement technique. The position film discrete wide-angle reflections has provided direct information hydrocarbon chain packing tilt in these bilayers. These results correlated to microscopy study same (Waldbilling, R. C., Robertson, J.D. McIntosh, T. J. (1976) Biochim. Biophys. Acta 448, 1-14) also studies acid crystals. A method forming structurally analyzing well defined chemical asymmetry is described.
