摘要: Essential oils of the fruits three organically grown cultivars Egyptian fennel (Foeniculum vulgare var. azoricum, Foeniculum dulce and vulgare) were examined for their chemical constituents, antimicrobial antioxidant activities. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry analysis essential revealed presence 18 major monoterpenoids in all but percentage each oil greatly different. trans-Anethole, estragole, fenchone limonene highly abundant oils. Antioxidant activities evaluated using DPPH radical scavenging, lipid peroxidation metal chelating assays. from azoricum more effective antioxidants than that cultivar. Antimicrobial measured against two species fungi, Gram negative positive bacteria. All showed similar activity.
