摘要: Abstract In an investigation of perceptions the conflicts between people and jaguars on Amazon deforestation frontier Pantanal, Brazil, we explored how impact livestock human safety vary with experience (including reported loss), region, place residence, attitudes towards jaguars, knowledge species, changes in jaguar abundance regional economic situation. Livestock loss threat to were not only predictors perceived conflict jaguars. acted combination attitudes, situation determine perceive have their livelihoods. Attitudes influenced by age, gender whether respondents lived urban or rural areas. An experiment which shown photographs dead livestock, asked ascribe cause death, revealed interaction knowledge: whose species was low, those negative assigned a larger number depredation. Our evidence suggests that can affect conclusions rancher draws from finding carcass cow, even noticing cow is missing.
