摘要: Abstract Mycothiol (MSH) is the major low molecular weight thiol in mycobacteria. Two chemical mutants with MSH and one no (strain 49) were produced inMycobacterium smegmatismc2155 to assess role of Strain 49 was shown not produce 1- d -myo-inosityl-2-amino-2-deoxy-α- -glucopyranoside (GlcN-Ins), an intermediate biosynthesis. Relative parent strain, mutant formed colonies more slowly on solid media sensitive H2O2and rifampin, but less isoniazid. Complementation DNA fromM. tuberculosisH37Rv partially restored production GlcN-Ins MSH, resistance H2O2, largely colony growth rate sensitivity rifampin The results indicate that are essential forin vitrosurvival mycobacteria may play significant roles determining environmental toxins.
