Intubation training in neonatal patients: a review of one trainee's first 150 procedures.

摘要: Background: The experience in performing intubation procedures gained by a single operator has been previously reported for adult, but not neonatal patients. Aim: In order to evaluate the process of skill acquisition, we reviewed first 150 tracheal intubations performed pediatric trainee. Methods: For logbook purposes, trainee prospectively recorded all that she during 5-year training period. Results: During study period, Nicoletta Doglioni 152 procedures. Of procedures, author was successful on 120 (79%) occasions. these, 77 (64%) were attempt, and 43 (36%) second attempt. Author improved year 1 (67%) 2 (79%), 3 (77%), 4 (80%) 5 (91%), respectively.
