摘要: Summary A 2116bp segment of the bacteriophage T4 genome encompassing motA regulatory gene has been sequenced. In addition to motA, five open reading frames were identified in direction early transcription. The encodes a basic protein 211 amino acids with predicted molecular weight 23559. Measurements rate transcription showed that promoter this is turned off after only 2 min development. This presents structure which richer information than classical constitutive Escherichia coli promoter. containing conserved sequences centred at -10 and -35, shares extensive homologies other subgroups promoters regions +3 -55. We discuss possible role these different sequence determinants.
