摘要: This study evaluated the role of linezolid in treatment patients suffering from pneumococcal meningitis. Treatment included ceftriaxone (4000 mg every 24 h), (600 12 h) and dexamethasone (8 6 h). Linezolid was withdrawn if a penicillin-susceptible isolate Streptococcus pneumoniae identified. Of 16 studied, seven were infected with penicillin-non-susceptible isolates S. pneumoniae, two died, three reported sequelae. No toxicity reported. It concluded that can be used for meningitis, as an alternative to vancomycin or rifampicin, regimens including third-generation cephalosporin.
