摘要: A central question in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) research is the identity of tumor-initiating cell, and its contribution to malignant phenotype genomic state. We examine potential adult lineage-restricted progenitors induce fully penetrant GBM using CNS progenitor-specific inducible Cre mice mutate Nf1, Trp53, Pten. identify two phenotypically molecularly distinct subtypes governed by identical driver mutations. demonstrate that arise from functionally independent pools progenitors. Despite histologic as GBM, these tumor types are separable based on lineage cell. These studies point cell origin a major determinant subtype diversity.
