摘要: Obtaining primary stability of acetabular cup (AC) implants is one the main objectives press-fit procedures used for cementless hip arthroplasty. The aim this study to investigate whether AC implant can be evaluated using signals obtained with an impact hammer. A hammer equipped a force sensor was in 20 bovine bone samples. For each sample, different conditions were by changing cavity diameter. configuration, inserted impacted four times maximum comprised between 2500 and 4500 N. An indicator I determined based on partial impulse estimation pull-out measured. value reached interference fit equal 1 mm 18 out When pooling all samples configurations, significantly correlated (R(2) = 0.83). assessed through analysis Based these ex vivo results, medical device could developed provide decision support system orthopedic surgeons.
