摘要: Baicalein, a widely used Chinese herbal medicine, has been proved as promising chemopreventive compound for many cancers. The aim of this work was to assess the anti-tumor effect baicalein in orthotopic glioma models. It found that treatment mice with U87 gliomas (20 and 40 mg/kg/day, i.p.) significantly inhibited intracerebral tumor growth prolonged survival. Furthermore, suppressed cell proliferation, promoted apoptosis, arrested cycle gliomas. In addition, reduced permeability, attenuated edema tumors brains, improved tight junctions Finally, expression HIF-1α, VEGF, VEGFR2 also markedly survival rats 9L conclusion, an obvious activity Our results suggested might be effective therapy recurrent malignant brain cancers through suppressing alleviating edema.
