摘要: Abstract Introduction Colorectal chemoprevention is a strategy aimed at preventing tumour progression before irreversible changes to the proteome are in full progress. Chemoprevention not new concept. In fact, medical practitioners since early 19th century have tried various herbal and medicinal products as methods that could prevent tumours. The current understanding of tumourigenesis cellular signalling focuses on more targeted approach paves way for better colorectal chemoprevention. Methods online databases PubMed, Medline, Medscape Oncology Scirrus were searched articles relevance. Keyword involved following words: "Colorectal Cancer Chemoprevention", Cancer", "Chemoprevention", "Adenoma-Carcinoma Sequence" Polyps". search was started from period June 1995 until September 2010 inclusive. Results More than 50 natural synthetic compounds been shown chemotherapeutic effect but majority these agents still their experimental stages hence far our subject discussion. Our discussion will focus large scale randomised trials human subjects or established compounds. Within context chemoprevention, Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory undergone extensive research promising results with trials. Additionally, metformin, resveratrol, Histone deacetylase inhibitors, Src kinases well monoclonal antibodies well. Conclusion cancer fourth most common world. UK alone number cases reported 2008 almost 40,000 which make it third nationwide. Curative intent surgery Colectomy treatment choice bowel cancer; however, select subpopulation patients who colonoscopically diagnosed harbour pre-malignant lesions, family history cancer, genetically treated surgically tumours; might play crucial role deterring further progression. very latest studies publication just accruing giving us encouraging data suggest whether mass ingestion specific medication deter
