摘要: The modelling of metal flows provides a comprehensive picture use in the economy and allows for effective investigation into barriers enablers to increase recycling rates. In export-oriented economy, such as Australia, requires clearly distinguishing cycles within outside country, needs an adequate metrics assess country's targets “closing material loop”. This article investigates Australian position global metals production use, assesses potential circularity country based on data from 2002 onwards. analysis shows that over period 2011 overall estimate final consumption grew 8.8 million tonnes 12.3 tonnes, or 445 551 kg per person. Similarly, amount generated waste is estimated have grown approximately 5 6 250–270 kg person respectively. collected scrap 3.3 Mt 3.9 Mt, with collection rates being relatively stable at about 70%. However, domestic processing decreased significantly – 67% early 2000s 41% 2010s, while export increased accordingly. current levels generation, collection, Australia equal 50%, 35%, 15%
