摘要: The performance of a commercially available assay for detection hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibody in saliva samples was assessed. Samples were collected from 270 individuals whose HCV status determined by serum (161 HCV-positive, 109 HCV-negative). tested the presence antibodies using modified protocol. sensitivity 94.4% (95% CI, 89.3–97.2%) and specificity 99.1% 94.3–100%). Although optical density tests on HIV-positive lower than that among HIV-negative individuals, HIV had no significant influence results saliva. These findings suggest can be useful epidemiological studies estimating prevalence populations are difficult to reach.
