Nuclear power in Australia: A comparative analysis of public opinion regarding climate change and the Fukushima disaster

摘要: A nation-wide survey was conducted in 2010 to investigate the Australian public's attitudes nuclear power relation climate change and comparison other energy alternatives. The showed a majority of respondents (42%) willing accept if it would help tackle change. Following disaster at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Complex Japan, an event triggered by 11 March 2011 Tohoku earthquake tsunami, expected that support for Australia In light this, follow-up 2012. Indeed, post-Fukushima results show (40%) were not as option change, despite fact most Australians still believed offer cleaner, more efficient than coal, which currently dominates domestic production energy. Expanding use renewable sources (71%) remains popular option, followed energy-efficient technologies (58%) behavioural (54%). Opposition will continue be obstacle against its future development even when posed viable solution
