摘要: Studies assessing the immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody responses in severe malaria are not readily available. This study was designed to compare IgG and IgG1-4 its major clinical presentations (cerebral malaria, malarial anemia respiratory distress) children (≤15 years) Buea, Cameroon. In a hospital-based cross-sectional comparative study, presenting for consultation at outpatient department/Emergency unit of Buea Regional Hospital were enrolled assigned into one three groups: uncomplicated negative controls. Baseline characteristics determined; blood glucose level measured by glucometer, complete count performed using an automated heamatology analyser participants screened parasites light microscopy categorized based on WHO criteria. Total antibodies standard ELISA with Plasmodium falciparum 19-KDa C-terminal region merozoite surface protein 1 (P.fMSP-119) antigen as capture antigen. A total 236 comprising: 66 70 100 The different groups similar regards their ages (p=0.06) gender (p=0.900). Children had significantly higher levels anti-P.fMSP-119 IgG4 (p<0.0001) lower IgG1 IgG3 antibodies. There no significant variation between forms malaria. finding non-cytophilic is suggestive role plays pathogenesis Larger studies investigating how these immune effector cells vary phenotypes recommended.
