EFFECT OF ACUTE INTRAVENOUS ACE-INHIBITION ON THE INTRARENAL DOPPLER FLOW CHARACTERISTICS IN HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS WITH AND WITHOUT UNILATERAL RENAL ARTERY STENOSIS

摘要: Assessment of intrarenal doppler signals is particular importance in screening for renal artery stenosis. We studied the effect acute ACE-inhibition (1,25 mg enalaprilate i.v.) on resistive indices 10 hypertensive patients with unilateral stenosis versus essential hypertension. Any changes limited to poststenotic vessels could possibly improve diagnostic value duplex sonography. After a significant fall Resistive Index occurred both patient groups. In cases we saw tendency an increased side difference due greater side. Therefore clear advantage scanning after was not found. The results suggest that vascular resistance and only degree significance characteristics signal.
