School-aged children's performance in the Brazilian adaptation of the reading processes assessment

摘要: BACKGROUND: Brazilian adaptation of the reading processes assessment (Prolec). AIM: to characterize and compare performance students from public private teaching institutions 1st 4th grades in METHOD: 262 elementary school participated this study. Participants were distributed as follows: Group I (GI) consisted 122 schools II (GII) 140 schools. The adapted version (Prolec) was applied. RESULTS: results indicated that GII performed better tests sound identification, word choosing, words reading, low-frequency pseudo-words sentences comprehension text comprehension. Both groups presented a lower than expected Prolec Spanish version. CONCLUSIONS: reality appears be appropriate for establishment profile students, institutions, who are undergoing initial phase literacy.
