摘要: Impairment of endogenous differentiation pathways like retinoic acid (RA) signaling seems to be a central pathogenetic event in astrocytic gliomas. Among others, expression the differentiation-promoting RA chaperon protein cellular binding 2 (CRABP2) is extenuated high-grade Against this background, we aimed at identifying potential pathomechanisms underlying reduced CRABP2 these tumors. Using MassARRAY methylation analysis, detected extensive CpG upstream gene locus study sample comprising 100 gliomas WHO Grade II IV. Compared nontumorous control samples, tumors revealed increased and levels were inversely correlated mRNA expression. Substantiating our situ findings, glioma cell lines after exposure demethylating agent 5-aza-2′-deoxycytidine. Finally, distinct signature distinguished between primary glioblastoma on one hand group astrocytoma II–III secondary other hand. Altogether, observations suggest that epigenetic silencing might contribute an immature phenotype cells.
