摘要: "The El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve is a natural protected area with limited hydrologic resources because there are no permanent surface streams. Ephemeral streams appear during scarce rains. This has led the inhabitants to use underground aquifers. However, excessive consumption and conditions have overexploitation of aquifer salt intrusion. The main objective determine economic value for improvements in environmental service providing water using contingent valuation method (CVM). results indicate willingness pay an additional US$2 per month what currently paid by consumers. low income households be willing about US$1.70 high households, US$2.20. piped US$1.92, while those that remain unconnected, US$2.52. money collected should used improve conservation, such as restoration aquifers, maintain hydrological services, distribution system, build infrastructure storage waste treatment plants, find alternative sources. study offers pertinent quantitative information recommendations decision-makers management reserve. Presidential Decree 1988 will support attempts obtain international proper resource inhabitants."
