Mechanical and tribological behaviors of polyamide 66/ultra high molecular weight polyethylene blends

摘要: The blends of polyamide (PA) and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) were prepared by a Brabender DSE25 co-twin screw extruder, maleic anhydride (MAH) grafted high-density (HDPE) was used as compatibilizer. A chemical reaction between MAH group MAH-g-HDPE terminal amino PA testified FT-IR analysis. Mechanical tribological tests showed that the tensile bending strength decrease with increase UHMWPE. Besides, mechanical strengths PA/UHMWPE improved adding appropriate MAH-g-HDPE. ameliorated homogeneous dispersing ability UHMWPE in blend. friction coefficient volume wear rate decreased apparently UHMWPE, probably has straight chain structure good flexibility; therefore, transferring film could be easily formed on steel surface In process, resistance relative to property when amount layer reached certain value.
