摘要: We studied the effect of topical timolol maleate 0.5% on retinal circulation eyes with ocular hypertension using laser Doppler velocimetry and monochromatic fundus photography. Patients had normal eye examinations documented elevated intraocular pressures 23 mmHg or higher two more separate occasions. In a double-masked randomized design, one each subject received fellow placebo. Vessel diameter, maximum velocity red blood cells, volumetric flow rate were determined in major vein just prior to instillation drops, then 2 hr later. comparison baseline value, there was an increase 12.0% average cell (P < 0.005, statistically significant) 8.4% timolol-treated 0.05, significant). No significant changes these quantities observed placebotreated eyes. Also, no change venous diameter detected placebo- baseline, significantly larger than placebo-treated 0.05). The difference between achieved probability value P = 0.058. may be related perfusion pressure produced by this drug. Invest Ophthalmol Vis Sci 31:521-526,1990
